Care Granted Michigan Foundation

Creating opportunity.

A Michigan foundation that opens doors for people with different abilities and historically underserved communities.

Our mission

To create opportunities, advance inclusion and empower Michigan communities through accessible environments, educational pathways, strategic philanthropy and partnerships that deliver lasting impact.

Founded in 2023, we're focused on Michigan today, building on years of giving by Care Granted, the Grand Rapids home care company that is our main funder.

Our vision is a Michigan where circumstances don't decide opportunity.

  • Rooted in MichiganOur programs and partners are here in Michigan today.
  • Programs and partnersOur own initiatives, and established partners we fund.
  • Built to lastLasting solutions, not temporary fixes.
A green seedling pushes up through dark soil.

Care Granted Michigan Foundation (CGMF) works with and for:

  • People with different abilities
  • Historically underserved communities
  • Charitable organizations in Michigan
  • Partners whose projects advance charitable goals

  • Care Granted has been a great blessing to my life. Many companies made me feel like a number instead of a person. With Care Granted I knew they cared.

    Care Granted client

  • The Care Granted team truly understands what people with disabilities have to overcome each day. When they sent their trained caregivers, I knew I was in good hands.

    Care Granted client

  • They are family oriented, compassionate, and care about me as a person. I'm grateful to Gabriel for starting a business like this.

The founder's story

What Care Granted learned, the foundation passes on.

Gabriel in a hospital bed in 2009, after the accident, with monitors and an IV stand beside him.
  1. Growing up

    Unequal starts

Gabriel saw early how unevenly educational opportunity is shared.

  2. 2009

    Injury and rehabilitation

A spinal cord injury, then rehabilitation and wheelchair sports, showed him what the right support makes possible.

  3. 2016

    Care Granted

Starting a business short of capital taught him how hard starting behind is. In 2016 he founded Care Granted.

  4. 2023

    The foundation

The foundation puts those lessons to work across Michigan.

“Keep pushing. Together, we go further.”
